These images are taken from the ordnance survey maps of Sevenoaks dating from 1869/70. The High Street and London Road are instantly recognisable, while some of the maps show just how rural many parts of the area were, with Wickenden Wood and much of Hartslands not yet developed. Much of the building work would follow the advent of the railway, first at Bat & Ball in 1862, and then at Sevenoaks (Tubs Hill) in 1868.
